Agent setup

Connect another agent

About 2 minutes. You need a Sharedrop account.

If your agent can run terminal commands, follow the Quickstart: install the CLI, sign in and add the skill. If it can't, add Sharedrop as a connector:

Add Sharedrop

In your app's settings, add a remote MCP server (sometimes called a connector) with this address:

https://sharedrop.cloud/api/mcp

Sign in

Approve the Sharedrop sign-in in the browser window that opens.

Try it

Ask your agent:

Make a one-page summary of this conversation and share it with ShareDrop.

If your app can't sign in

Some apps, scripts and servers can't open a browser. Use an API key instead:

  1. Create a key on the API keys page.
  2. Send it with every request as Authorization: Bearer sd_.... Apps that read an mcpServers config file usually take it like this:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sharedrop": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://sharedrop.cloud/api/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer sd_your_api_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

For the CLI, set SHAREDROP_TOKEN instead. See Authentication.

Check it worked

Your agent replies with a sharedrop.cloud link that opens your new page, private to you until you share it.

If it doesn't work

  • The app can't add a server by address: use the CLI or the API instead.
  • Sign-in never finishes: use an API key as shown above.
  • UNAUTHORIZED with a key: check the key starts with sd_ or sdw_ and has not been revoked.
