Connect Claude Code

About 2 minutes. You need a Sharedrop account.

Install the CLI

In your terminal, run:

npm install -g @sharedrop/cli

This needs Node.js 20.10 or later.

sharedrop login

A browser window opens once. Approve the sign-in, then check it with sharedrop whoami. It shows your Sharedrop username.

Add the skill

npx skills add ShareDropCloud/skills --skill sharedrop -g

The skill teaches Claude Code when and how to use the CLI.

Try it

Ask Claude Code:

Make a one-page summary of this conversation and share it with ShareDrop.

Check it worked

Claude Code replies with a sharedrop.cloud link that opens your new page, private to you until you share it.

If it doesn't work

The terminal says command not found: close and reopen the terminal. If it still fails, run node --version and update Node.js if it is older than 20.10.
sharedrop whoami does not show your username: run sharedrop login again.
Claude Code answers without a link: start a new session so it picks up the skill, or say "use the sharedrop CLI" in your request.

Other way: add Sharedrop as a connector

Use this only if you can't install the CLI. The connector signs you in through the browser, so you don't need an API key.

Just for you:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user sharedrop https://sharedrop.cloud/api/mcp

For your whole team, run this in the project folder instead, then commit the .mcp.json file it creates. Each teammate signs in with their own account.

claude mcp add --transport http --scope project sharedrop https://sharedrop.cloud/api/mcp

Then type /mcp in Claude Code, pick sharedrop and choose Authenticate.
